Air Fryer Roast Garlic

Air fried roast garlic is creamy and spreadable. It’s not as sharp as raw garlic but still has a wonderful garlic flavor.

You can roast as many head of garlic as you’d like. Just be sure there’s a little room around each foil bundle.

Ingredients

  • 1 or more medium heads garlic
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Remove any loose pieces of garlic skin from the garlic head(s). Don’t separate the cloves. Use a serrated knife and cut about ¼-inch off the top of the head(s) of garlic. Expose each clove of garlic.

  2. Place the garlic on a piece of aluminum foil. Drizzle 1 teaspoon of olive oil over each head of garlic. Sprinkle with kosher salt, about ¼-teaspoon. Wrap each head tightly in foil.

  3. Set air fryer to 350° F. Preheat for about three minutes. Place the wrapped heads of garlic in the fryer basket. Be sure to leave a little space around each foil bundle. Cook until soft and brown, about 30 minutes.

  4. Check the garlic for doneness. Remove it from the air fryer. Carefully unwrap. Steam will escape from the foil when you unwrap it. Use a knife to check the cloves. They should be very soft. If they aren’t done, return the garlic to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the garlic from the foil packets and allow to cool. Squeeze the garlic out of the head or remove each clove with a small fork. Spread the garlic onto crackers or bread or mash and use for cooking.
