Honey butter biscuit bites are made from canned biscuits and finished with a honey-butter glaze. These compete with glazed doughnut holes for a special treat.

If you love glazed doughnut holes, you’re going to love these honey butter biscuit bites. To make them, start with a can of biscuit dough. The best part? No frying is needed! Simply cut the biscuits into quarters and bake. After baking, toss the warm biscuits in a thick honey butter glaze. The glaze was inspired by my favorite cinnamon honey butter. It transforms the biscuits into a sweet doughnut-like treat.

How to Make Honey Butter Biscuit Bites

Start with Canned Biscuits. A can of flaky-style canned biscuits makes this such an easy recipe. Cut the biscuits into quarters (four equal pieces) and round each piece into a ball. They won’t stay round during baking. That’s fine! But shaping them into a ball ensures that they don’t burn.

Make the Honey Butter Glaze. While the biscuits bake, make the glaze. Stir together powdered sugar, cinnamon, honey, melted butter, and milk. This simple glaze makes the biscuits taste like glazed doughnut holes!

Break up the Biscuits Pieces. Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool for about five minutes. After baking, break the biscuits in half. This makes them bite-size. (This step is optional.)

Glaze the Warm Biscuits. Place the warm biscuits into a large bowl. Pour the glaze over the biscuits and stir gently with a spatula to coat. At first, it might seem like there isn’t enough glaze. It’s important to do this while the biscuits are still warm.

Transfer to a Baking Sheet to Dry. Spread the coated biscuits onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Separate them so they don’t stick together. Let the glaze dry for about 30 minutes. Then place the biscuits into a serving bowl.

    Honey Butter Biscuit Bites

    Prep Time 20 minutes
    Cook Time 15 minutes
    Servings 36 biscuits

    Ingredients

    • 1 (8-count can) flaky-style biscuits (16 ounce can)
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
    • 2 tablespoons milk, plus more as needed

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    2. Open biscuit can and seperate biscuits. Cut each biscuit into four pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place onto prepared baking sheet.

    3. Bake until biscuits are golden brown, about 15 minutes. They spread during baking and don't stay round. This is normal.

    4. While biscuits bake, prepare the glaze. Whisk together powdered sugar and cinnamon. Add the honey, melted butter, and milk. The glaze should fall easily from a spoon. If it seems thick, add additional milk, one teaspoon at a time.

    5. Remove biscuits from oven and allow to cool for five minutes. If you want, break them in half. Flaky biscuits break in half easily. Place the biscuits into a large bowl. While they are still warm, pour the glaze over the biscuits. Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon and stir to coat the biscuits.

    6. Spread glazed biscuits onto parchment-lined baking sheet. Seperate to keep the biscuits from sticking together. Allow the glaze to harden, about 30 minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl.

    7. Honey butter biscuit bites are best enjoyed the day they are made. If you have leftovers, store them covered on the counter for one day.
