Why You’ll Love This Hot Fudge Sauce

- Thick and creamy
- Rich chocolate flavor.
How to Make Easy Hot Fudge Sauce
Many recipes for hot fudge sauce start with cocoa powder. Not this one! You combine chocolate chips with a can of sweetened condensed milk, butter, and milk. (Make sure to use sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk for this recipe. Sweetened condensed milk contains sugar and adds a sweet, almost caramel-like flavor to the sauce.)
Once the chocolate chips begin to melt, stir the sauce gently until it’s creamy and smooth. Cook the hot fudge over low heat. If you cook it over high heat, the bottom might burn. Remove the sauce from the heat and add a little vanilla extract. That’s it!
Flavoring Hot Fudge
It’s easy to change the flavor of this simple sauce. Instead of adding vanilla extract, add a different extract or oil. Raspberry and orange are two favorites.
How to Store Homemade Hot Fudge
Place the cooked sauce into a container and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
How to Reheat Hot Fudge
This sauce is thick and spreadable when cold. Before serving, scoop some into a small dish and heat gently in the microwave. If you don’t have a microwave, place a few inches of water into a pan and heat the water until warm but not boiling. Remove from the heat and place the jar of hot fudge in the pan for a few minutes.
