Hi Guys!
If you know me, which you probably do if you’re reading this letter, you know that I love my pressure cooker. <—understatement.
I’ve wanted to share my recipes with you for a while but my current web home, GlutenFreeBaking.com, doesn’t feel quite right. A recipe for 10-minute ribs is gluten-free but it’s not baking. Same goes for my recipes for chicken and rice, barbacoa, and some truly awesome potatoes. You feel me?
So I decided to take a giant leap and start a new endeavor. (deep breath) I’ll be sharing all my favorite recipes for pressure cooking at this spiffy new site. Plus some other recipes that don’t fit under the gluten-free baking umbrella. (You know I just got into canning, right? I mean one could argue that if you can a batch of something, you are then able to “cook fast, eat well” with the foods you made in advance.)
The site launches on September 28. Until then, I’d love it if you signed up for my mailing list and liked Cook Fast, Eat Well on Facebook.
I can’t wait to cook with you!
Elizabeth

Thank you for sharing this great information, step by step with pictures and even video. I bought an Instant Pot Duo about a month ago and didn’t had the guts yet to use it/test it as the manual is so very confusing. You made it easy to understand and can’t wait to try it out. Will be back again for recipes 🙂

i agree with everyone about the horrible user manual. Very confusing!!! i failed the water startup test when I followed the manual ,so i searched online and found your site. Thank you!!! great instructions and easy to follow.
My instant pot Duo Mini does not have a “Manual” button and i can’t findany instruction on how to differentiate the pressure setting on the LED display and the time setting display on same LED display. How do you switch between the 2 displays? There is nothing in the manual concerning this issue.

I’ll have to look into this. I don’t yet have the mini. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

I recently got an 8qt instant pot duo, and have cooked successfully (twice) with it. I tried to boil eggs this morning, and once it got up to pressure, steam started leaking from the float valve. After everything had cooled down, and I had checked this site for clues, I tried a water test. This time, once the pressure was built up, the float valve rose, but then steam started coming from the UNVENTED steam release handle. According to my troubleshooting guidelines, this sounds serious. What do you think? Oh, and the one other thing i’ve done after the two successful meals, was to take out and clean the sealing ring. However, i’ve checked it thoroughly, and it appears to be installed correctly.

I’d reach out to the company for this issue.
