If you want an easy treat for Valentine’s Day, make these cookie cups. They’re easy to bake and combine two treats in one: a chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate heart.

I’m a huge fan of cookie cups! I like to fill them with peanut butter cups, Rolos, and, around Valentine’s Day, heart-shaped chocolates. They’re super easy to make—especially if you use store-bought chocolate chip cookie dough. If you prefer homemade dough, just use about a tablespoon of cookie dough per cup. No matter how you make them, I’m sure you’ll love them!
The 3 Essentials for a Perfect Batch of Heart Cookie Cups
- Cookie Dough. I make these with store bought chocolate chip cookie dough. Peanut butter or sugar cookie dough works great too!
- Chocolate Hearts. Around Valentine’s Day, Dove makes solid chocolate hearts that are the perfect size for these cookies.
- Mini Muffin Pan. The cup shape comes from a mini-muffin pan.
How to Make Valentine’s Cookie Cups. It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
- Place the cookie dough into a greased mini-muffin pan.
- Bake until the cookies are set. The edges should look golden brown.
- Press the chocolate heart into the baked cookies as soon as the pan comes out of the oven. Let the cookie cups cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before removing them.
Tips
- Remember to grease your muffin pan. Even if it’s nonstick.
- Don’t wait to press the chocolate into the cookies. Press the candy in when the cookie is hot.
- Use whatever cookie dough you love.
