Easy to make Oreo bark tastes like cookies and cream. You only need two ingredients and about 15 minutes to make this treat.

Love chocolate bark? Try my pretzel bark recipe. It’s sweet and salty and so good!

    How to Make Oreo Bark

    1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Melted chocolate sticks to metal. Lining your baking sheet with parchment or waxed paper is a must.
    2. Crush the cookies. Place the Oreo cookies in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin. You could also crush them with a food processor.
    3. Melt the candy. For this recipe, I recommend using white candy coatings. They are made to melt and don’t require tempering to firm after melting like real chocolate. If you’d rather use white chocolate or white chocolate chips, add a teaspoon of coconut oil to the melted white chocolate before adding the crushed Oreos.
    4. Stir together. Pour the melted white chocolate over the crushed cookies and stir. Once the cookies are coated with chocolate, spread the mixture onto your parchment-lined baking sheet. Work quickly so the chocolate doesn’t thicken in the bowl.

Tips for Making the Best Oreo Bark

    • Don’t overheat the white chocolate. Whether you’re using white candy coating or white chocolate, melt it slowly. It’s easy to overheat white chocolate and when that happens, it gets thick and hard to combine with the cookies.
    • Crush cookies into small pieces. To make the bark easy to break into pieces, crush the cookies into small pieces.
    • Use different flavored Oreos. While nothing beats a classic chocolate sandwich cookie, there are some flavored Oreos that make fantastic bark. Mint is especially nice during the holiday season.

    Oreo Cookie Bark

Easy to make Oreo bark tastes like cookies and cream. You only need two ingredients and about 15 minutes to make this treat.

    Prep Time 5 minutes
    Chill 10 minutes
    Total Time 15 minutes
    Servings 2 cups

    Ingredients

    • 10 to 12 ounces white candy coating or white chocolate chips
    • 1 teaspoon coconut oil, optional see note
    • 10 regular chocolate sandwich cookies

    Instructions

    1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

Crush the cookies into small pieces and place into a medium mixing bowl.

    2. Melt the candy coatings.

To melt in the microwave: Place coatings in a 2 cup glass container. Heat on medium (half power) for 30 seconds. Remove and stir. Repeat until melted.

To melt in a double boiler. Fill bottom of double boiler with ½ water. Place candy coatings in top pan or bowl. Heat over low. Stir coatings until melted.

    3. If using white chocolate chips, stir one teaspoon of coconut oil into the melted chocolate chips.

    4. Pour melted candy coatings over the crushed cookies. Stir to coat. Spread onto parchment paper into about a 8×10-inch rectangle. Place pan in the refrigerator and allow bark to harden, about 10 minutes. Break into bite-size pieces.

    5. Store bark in bags or an airtight container for up to one month. Don't refrigerate or freeze.

    Recipe Notes

    Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

Coconut Oil: If you want to use white chocolate or white chocolate chips, stir one teaspoon of coconut oil into the melted white chocolate. This helps the chocolate to harden without requiring tempering.

White Candy Coatings: The quality of candy coatings varies from brand to brand. Use a candy coating that tastes great right out of the bag. Dark or white candy coatings can be used for a different flavor.

Oreos: Crush cookies into bite-size pieces. If you crush them into fine crumbs, the bark tastes great but looks gray. Use any flavor Oreo you like. Peppermint Oreos are nice during the holiday season.
